de Brún calls for publication of report into MEPs expenses

Sinn Féin MEP Bairbre de Brún has today called for the publication of an audit commissioned by the European Parliament’s Budget Control Committee to investigate MEPs staff allowances.

Speaking from Brussels where she is involved in an exchange of views in committee regarding her report for adoption by the European Parliament regarding PEACE funds, Ms de Brún said:

“I am calling for the report to be published in order to make to make the system more transparent. My colleagues on the Budget Control Committee argued this point very strongly during the meeting. I am disappointed by the decision not to publish.” ENDS
