McDonald - Dick Roche's dismissive attitude towards the electorate is high handed

Sinn Féin Dublin MEP Mary Lou McDonald has described Dick Roche’s dismissive attitude towards the provision of fair and balanced information to the electorate as “high handed and anti-democratic”.
Ms. McDonald said:
“Dick Roche’s dismissive attitude, toward the provision of fair and balanced information to the electorate, as high handed and anti-democratic. Everybody should have the opportunity to read the text of a Treaty that is going to have serious implications for this country. The Treaty should be distributed as widely as possible in post offices, libraries, schools, workplaces and peoples homes.
“Dick Roche and the government have shown that they are incapable of providing full information. The idea that the government should use their position and public finances to limit the flow of information is very disturbing and is very different to the attitude adopted by the French government in 2005.”
