de Brún regrets Parliament did not go further in limiting carbon emissions

Bairbre de Brún MEP has today welcomed the inclusion of aviation in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). Today's vote in the European Parliament sees the first piece of legislation on the EU level since EU leaders decided in March to reduce the EU's emissions by 20% compared to 1990 levels by 2020. The Parliament also voted to strengthen the proposal from the European Commission. View More

Speaking to more than 100 Sinn Féin activists at a conference in Dublin this morning MEP Mary Lou McDonald said Sinn Féin's priorities for Dublin are to create safer Dublin communities, end the housing crisis in the city, end the unequal two-tier health system and to promote republican politics in the capital city. Ms. McDonald also said Sinn Féin in Dublin will lead a robust campaign against the EU reform treaty and called on all republicans in the city to get involved with the party. View More
